There are many excellent musical theatre programs at colleges and universities all over America. Each of these programs is designed to train their students as triple threats, meaning that they will learn how to sing, dance, and act. While you will usually not see much Shakespeare and ballet on the Broadway stage, most programs are designed using classical training standards. There are also many who simply choose to move to New York after high school and take individual classes while they are auditioning and attempting to get an agent.
